How to learn joyful belief? I set this question to myself for a long time because it is obvious to me: the belief in the Christ should be joyful. The Gospel begins with pleasure announcement: «be not afraid: I announce to you great pleasure», — the angel speaks to shepherds at Jesus Christmas (Lk 2:10). «They have bowed to It and have come back to Jerusalem with великою pleasure», — so the Gospel (Lk 24:52) comes to an end.


About that it is impossible to know that there is God and not to rejoice, father Alexander Shmeman liked to repeat. He writes in "Diaries": «the Grief about a sin does not rescue from a sin, the pleasure about the Lord rescues». Really, if all in this world can become "reflected light" of the Kingdom of Bozhija the life gets other measurement. As at apostle Pavel: «Any more I live, but there lives in me the Christ» (Gal 2:20)...

On October, 4th volunteers of the Moscow church of the Christ have taken part in the program «House of old friends» spent by Welfare fund «Hope worldwide», and could assist 96 lonely older persons and the veterans of the Second World War living in territory of Upravy Marfino of Moscow.

This day 30 volunteers of Church have allocated time and have arrived to give emotional support to people of old age and veterans of the Second World War. And also to visit at them on a visit, to spend necessary economic houseworks with which older persons to consult any more under force and personally to become someone the loved one, having offered a helping hand.

In our megacity there is a problem of dissociation and loneliness among people of old age. Many have got used to thought that last years the life in loneliness will spend. The majority of them are veterans of war and work, needy pensioners. This category of the population very sharply and painfully perceives all transformations to a society, and without having managed to reconstruct the mentality (from here there are difficulties of psychological character). There are many pensioners who are for various reasons deprived support (both material, and moral) from outside relatives. It is a lot of and those who is confined to bed and does not leave the house, requiring especial care and the help. The program «House of old friends» helps older persons to adapt and feel socially anew necessary to a society and each other...

On July, 6th, 2008 there was a historical event: at 12:00 in business hotel "Space" the first service of Church of the Christ in the Barrow has taken place.

At the first meeting of church was present more than 60 persons. They are people whom we have invited on city streets and with whom had time to construct relations, relatives of pupils and certainly pupils who have arrived from Ekaterinburg, Ufa, Chelyabinsk and Moscow.

The service has begun with spiritual church chanting, after there was a salutatory word to all gathered in a cosy conference hall of hotel. Two brothers, Denis Timofeev and Vladimir Sorokin, conducted a prayer. During service the missionary command has been presented. But the sermon was the most important part of our meeting. Vyacheslav Mikheyev, the Evangelist from the Moscow Church of the Christ, preached on a theme "Church about which the Bible" speaks. It has been allocated three high lights:
