Many hairdressing salons of Moscow have refused work in day of Easter
Moscow. On April, 5th. INTERFAX – In the first day of easter celebrations, on April, 4th, doors of many hairdressing salons of the capital traditionally working on Sundays, have appeared are closed.
Probably, hairdressers have recollected the old Russian proverb saying that for Easter "the maid of a plait does not spin, and the bird of a nest does not twist", and have decided not to come to work. Many ladies hastening this day on a visit, remained without celebratory hairdresses.
Last year on the eve of celebrating of Easter legislators of Petersburg considered the project of the reference to Dmitry Medvedev with the offer to give to orthodox Easter the status of the All-Russia holiday. The Moscow patriarchy has answered this initiative with the offer to make a question a subject of wide discussion, to understand, what part of the Russian society supports this idea.
The head of Department of mutual relations of Church and society archpriest Vsevolod Chaplin then specified that in the majority of the countries of Europe the day off is connected with Easter. "It is final, Easter is always Sunday, but in a number of the countries the day off is or Passionate Friday, or the Monday following Easter. If Easter becomes the state holiday either previous Friday, or the next Monday can become days off", - he spoke.
