Judea all world today, on March, 29th, mark one of the main holidays - Pesah.
Песах it is devoted to one of the main events of bible history - to an outcome from Egypt and to clearing of 400-year-old slavery of the Jewish people.
Песах ("passage by" in transfer from a Hebrew) has received such name in memory of how, according to Pjatiknizhiju, the death angel passed by houses of Jews, amazing only the Egyptian first-borns. That the angel could distinguish the Jewish houses from Egyptian, to each Jewish family was велено to pin up a lamb and with its blood to spread jambs of doors. Only after death of all Egyptian first-borns the Pharaoh has surrendered and has allowed Jews to leave Egypt.
The Torah forbids Jews to use during a holiday in food bread and any other products containing grain, which have undergone to ferment. Also the Torah rules to eat these days мацу.
In Israel Pesah - the seven-day holiday, the first and which last days - high-grade holidays and days off. Outside of Israel the holiday lasts 8 days, from which first two and final two - high-grade holidays.
